Help, my TI-83 / TI-84 Will not Graph

Posted on: May 13th, 2010 By: admin Under: Calculators Articles

And '8: 00 at night. Dinner is over. You made a movie or watching Monday Night Football – and then it happened. . . "Mommmmmmmmm (or Daddddddddddd), my calculator does not go well for me, I am in my math homework and my graph does not show .."

"It may not be as bad as you think." Heck I was in high school mathematics. I installed the accounting system who live in the workplace can be complicated as a calculator? .

The last time you see your childTI-83 or TI-84 in August at the shop office, but was on the front of a shopping cart topped with a stack of three ring binders and notebook paper. It did not seem so bad, but now has a better view and there are all types of keys you've never seen before on a calculator. It is really something familiar – a normal set of numeric keys, and it is the usual add, subtract, multiply and divide buttons. Once again it is off, "OF" "State", "Zoom", "Pull"etc.? What do you do? Who ya gonna call?

Relax.

Here are a few things very easy to do, but remember the title of this article is to help ", my TI-83 / TI-84 Will not graphic, it really is everything in this article are addressed.

Graphics Controls

Look at the first row of keys on TI-83/TI-84 calculator. We need five of them separated from other buttons, and should have the following items:

Y [=][Window] [ZOOM] [TRACE]] [Graf

This is where all activities take place.

Three major problems

Most of the time when a chart has three reasons:

Chart function. Graph function is not inserted properly or not working.

Chart not enabled. Graph feature race, but the graphics are not enabled.

display window. 'S showcase for the function is setwrong size or location.

We will consider these in turn.

Make sure the function graph inserted correctly

Press [Y =] button at the top of the calculator. It puts you Y = editor screen. You must have a screen that looks something as follows:

Plot1 Plot2 Plot3

Y1 = 2 x 1

Y2 =

Y3 =

Y4 =

Y5 =

Y6 =

The term "2 x 1" is just one example, but you must be a kind of expression seen in the Y = editor screennot just a bunch of empty "Y =" lines. If all you see is the following, you must add an entry:

Plot1 Plot2 Plot3

Y1 =

Y2 =

Y3 =

Y4 =

Y5 =

Y6 =

If you have a very simple expression to try to ensure that the computer can draw, use "Y1 = X". It should be a pleasant 45 degrees direct line home screen plot graph.

Make sure the card is reversed

It 'possible that the function graphinactive Y = editor screen. This error is a bit 'thin. Check "=" sign is proof that the equation "=" characters to the plot, must be given.
If so, you need the cursor to "=" sign and press [ENTER] to highlight.

Read the dialog to configure the correct size and position

If the window is set to the wrong size or location, by calculation, but do not see on the screen.

There are many ways toset the window, but a simple reliable method is simply "click out" until you see the function you are trying to chart. Press [ZOOM] at the top of the calculator. Then, push "3" to zoom out. Repeat until you see the function you are trying to chart. Now you have an idea of what the panel is necessary to show the print function. Press the [WINDOW key] on top of the computer and adjust the display properties, if necessary.
